Google and Bridge Pages

If you have lots of links to other sites on the front page of your website, you may run into a problem advertising it with Google AdWords. Google assigns low quality scores to sites that it considers to exist only to send clicks to other sites, rather than providing a useful user experience themselves. This is a common problem for affiliate websites attempting to advertise on Google, since they usually feature many outbound links to their affiliate partner. If this sounds like your site, you can expect it to be assigned a low quality score by Google (I’ve seen them as low as 1) and as a result your ad won’t appear alongside Google search results. If you attempt to submit many websites with this type of link-heavy design, Google may eventually suspend your entire advertising account. To date (August 2010) I am not aware of this being a problem on Yahoo, Microsoft’s Bing, or other search engines.
